After many many many long arduous hours of tossing my football around my apt (helps me think), banging my head on my desk and multiple facepalms, the script for Wolfenheart (all 78 EPIC pages of it) is DONE!!!
All that's left to do now is find a penciler for this book! I'll be concentrating on doing the rest of the character designs to lighten the workload of the artist and expedite pages getting started.
A little more explanation on what Wolfenheart is:
Wolfenheart will be a prequel, so to speak, of an ongoing series of the same name that I'll be trying to get published by a creator owned publishing company. (highest hopes for Top Cow or Image!!) The story is set in the 11th Century and is heavily involved with Norse and Greek Mythology. It rotates around the story of it's main character Kotharus and his supporting case of his wife Auralia, the villians Mordred & Kormak, and a handfull of the gods including Odin, Loki, Hela, Thor, Zues, Ares, Achilles, and more. Immediately following this book will be a 1-shot introducing a character named Azrah to the cast (he doesn't appear in this book) and explaining his background and tying him into Kotharus' story. Following that will be the first story arc of the ongoing series.
THIS book, that's being written right now, will be self published and independently distributed by the creative team.
The incentive for an artist to get on this book:
To get your foot in the door You want to draw comics for a living? Then get on this book. Because that's what this project is. A portfolio piece. Something you can take to professional comic creators and say "Hey! Look at what I helped create! Now let me create for you!" It'll showcase, not only fantastic artwork and character driven storytelling, but also YOUR ability to work with a team. Plus the fact that you helped create a book and aren't just sitting at home drawing fan art will impress your future employers and show them that you're the real deal. That you really are dedicated to doing this as a career.
The creative team is set with
and you as the Traditional Artist
For any comic book artists looking for more information on this book please feel free to leave a comment or a note and I'd be happy to go over any details of the book.
I'm asking that ANYONE interested in drawing Wolfenheart to do a character design of Kotharus, the main character, based off of my character design of him that can be found in the Wolfenheart folder in my gallery.
Thanks for taking a look!!
Stay sic, fuckers.
best,
Jake Townsend

Hurley and I talked and we decided that he should concentrate on taking care of his wife and enjoying his new son. He'll still be doing artwork when he can get to it, but even though this book isn't deadline oriented, I wouldn't want to be bugging him about pages when his focus is on his child.
I still want to work with Hurley in the future so when the timing is better we'll get to something. Wolfenheart isn't JUST this book. I have a 1-shot planned to follow this book, which I'm plotting out the storyline for now, so he's really a possible artist choice for that one.
